The Sail, Power and Steam Museum at Sharp’s Point South will present a concert by Daisy Nell and Captain Stan Saturday, Aug. 6, at 7:30 p.m.

Nell, native of Essex, Mass., mainstay of the shipbuilding industry for more than 300 years, brings alive New England’s maritime history through traditional songs of the sea. A familiar voice on the North Shore music scene, she is known for her broad repertoire of traditional folk, chanteys and contemporary songs. Her husband, Captain Stan, adds his guitar and dobro to her banjo and guitar. Together, they cover a lot of territory, from the foc’s’le to the farm.

Tickets are $12 in advance or at the door; call ahead for best seats at 701-7627 or 596-0200. Sharp’s Point South and the Sail, Power and Steam Museum are at 75 Mechanic St. For more information on the museum and its programs, email sailpowersteammuseum@gmail.com or visit sailpowersteammuseum.org.
