The Don Campbell Band will bring its Evening of Dan Fogelberg Music to the Strand Theatre, 345 Main St., Thursday, Aug. 11, at 7:30 p.m.

Singer/songwriter Dan Fogelberg was a multi-platinum selling recording artist with hits such as “Longer,” “Leader Of The Band” and “Same Old Lang Syne.” As a fellow singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Don Campbell has always considered Fogelberg a huge influence and musical hero.

Fogelberg died in 2007 after a three-year battle with prostate cancer. In recognition of what would have been Fogelberg’s 65th birthday on Aug. 13, Campbell and his six-member band will perform a special edition of their powerful and moving tribute show.

The performance includes many of Fogelberg’s hits, as well as favorites from across the artist’s career, including selections from Campbell's 23-song double CD tribute, “Kites To Fly: Celebrating The Music Of Dan Fogelberg.” The 2012 release caught the attention of the Fogelberg Foundation of Peoria, whose leadership invited the band to headline 2013’s annual Dan Fogelberg Celebration Weekend in Fogelberg’s hometown of Peoria, Ill. The Don Campbell Band performs Evening of Dan Fogelberg concerts around the country and is officially endorsed by the Fogelberg Foundation.

Co-based in Portland and Nashville, Campbell has opened and/or performed with a long list of folk, country and rock music greats including America, Jonathan Edwards, Shawn Colvin, Carrie Underwood, Willie Nelson and Keith Urban; and has won the grand prize of both the True Value Showdown and the Jim Beam National Band Search.

Tickets are $18 in advance, $20 at the door. Lobby and balcony bars will be open for those age 21 and older. To buy tickets or for more information, visit; call 594-0070, ext. 3; or email
