Sen. David Miramant, D-Camden, met recently with students at the Penobscot School, 28 Gay St., a nonprofit school dedicated to international exchange and language immersion.

“I had an excellent discussion with students of all ages from all over the world — Saudi Arabia, Peru, Colombia, Morocco and China,” Miramant said. “They learned about some of Maine’s political practices and traditions, and I learned about theirs. I have to say, I probably got the better end of the deal.”

The senator dropped by to discuss civics and tour the facility, which has operated for 30 years and offers foreign language classes, English immersion programs and an array of cultural events.
