After successful local shows with their own bands over the last two years, Necessary Music Productions is proud to bring Molly Venter and Midcoast natives Eben Pariser and Adam Chilenski to The Speakeasy as Goodnight Moonshine. The trio will perform Friday night, Aug. 5, at the downtown venue located under the Eclipse Restaurant, 2 Park Drive.

Goodnight Moonshine is Venter’s (Red Molly; guitar and vocals) new project with partner Pariser (Roosevelt Dime; guitar and vocals) and Chilenski (former Devil Makes 3; bass). They are doing a short summer tour and will play Rockland’s First Friday Art Walk the night before they play Boston. Pariser and Chilenski are old friends who grew up and became musicians right here in Midcoast Maine, so this should be a homecoming show for friends and family.

The emotional potency of Venter’s voice is surrounded and supported by a lush landscape of harmonies and minimalist orchestrations conceived by Pariser. Co-writing often, the couple, who welcomed their first child last fall, uses the creative process to explore a healthy authentic relationship. Their music encourages listeners to embrace opposing desires and to challenge, as well as support, each other through inspiration and dissolution… and to share this journey with their larger communities.

Tickets are $15. Doors will open at 8 p.m., with an opening set from local musicians Amy Green (Sugarbush) and Will Neils (Midnight Riders) at 8:30 p.m. The first of two sets from Goodnight Moonshine will begin at 9:30 p.m.
