New this year, Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District is offering a selection of fall bulbs to pre-order by Aug. 16 and pick up at its Rockport office from Oct. 17 to 20. During bulb pickup in October, a variety of potted trees, shrubs, berry plants, vines and ferns from the spring plant sale also will be available for cash – or check – and carry.

The district is offering daffodils, tulips, crocus, iris and more in mixes (landscape size) and stand-out single varieties (topsize), as well as three kinds of Maine-grown softneck and stiffneck seed garlic to plant for next year's harvest.

Daffodil mixes include Sunshine – a blend of yellow and cream narcissus with large cups rimmed in red, orange or pink; a fragrant mix, and a pink mix. Single varieties include two of the best yellows – Dutch Master and fragrant Carlton, and more. An assortment of tulips, some fragrant, spans the season and the color spectrum.

Purple Rain, a mix of raspberry, purple, violet, candy pink, and white with flames, is sure to make any spring garden an eye-catcher. Siberian and Dutch iris, three shades of fragrant peonies, blue camassia, grape hyacinth, hardy cyclamen, and crocuses – including the fall-blooming saffron crocus – round out this year’s catalog.
