Sixteen Midcoast chefs, caterers, and food purveyors will contribute their culinary talents to the 2016 Merryspring Kitchen Tour Wednesday, Aug. 3.

In each of the unique home kitchens featured on the Tour, a chef will be on hand to serve visitors tastings of his or her cuisine. This event is a wonderful opportunity to sample the fare from a wide array of the area’s newest restaurants and caterers, as well as many well-known favorites.

All proceeds from this popular summertime tour benefit Merryspring Nature Center — its 66 acres of scenic trails and gardens open free to the public, and its year-round nature and environmental programs.

Participating restaurants, caterers, and food purveyors this year are: Laura Cabot Catering, Waldoboro; Laugh Loud, Smile Big Cupcakes, Rockport; FOG Bar & Cafe, Rockland; Blue Sky Cantina, Rockport; Fiore Artisan Olive Oils & Vinegars, Rockland; 40 Paper Italian Bistro & Bar, Camden; The Market Basket, Rockport; Bleecker & Flamm Maine Street Meats, Rockport; Cafe Miranda, Rockland; Katherine White, Private Chef, Camden; Rhumb Line, Camden; Pig + Poet, Camden; The Red Barn Baking Company, Lincolnville; State of Maine Cheese, Rockport; Susan Boivin, MSAD 28; and Uncle Willy's Candy Shoppe, Camden.

Visitors should leave plenty of time to visit all the kitchens, but go in any order and at their own pace. Properties are not handicapped-accessible; visitors tour at their own risk. Please carpool as much as possible. Parking for kitchens 1 and 2 is available at the First Congregational Church on Elm Street, and at the Montessori School on Pleasant Street.
