The 69th annual Maine Lobster festival open Wednesday, Aug. 3, for a five-day occupation of Harbor Park. While there are musical performances throughout the fest, the big main show concerts take place Thursday through Saturday nights, Aug. 4 through 6.

Thursday has been dubbed Maine Music Day and its evening concert is included with festival admission. The main stage show starts 6:30 p.m. with the Maine Marimba Ensemble, followed by opener Lula Wiles at 7:45 p.m. and returning festival favorites The Mallett Brothers Band, taking the stage at 8:30 p.m.

Country hitmakers Diamond Rio will take the festival’s main stage Friday at 7:30 p.m., with an opening set by up-and-coming star Courtney Cole. Saturday at 6:30 p.m., opener Kris Rogers and The Dirty Gems will set up the evening for headliner Smash Mouth, taking the stage at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for seats in a reserved section directly in front of the stage at either show are $25, available online at, and include festival admission.
