This year’s Union Fair poster contest winner is Gail Hawes of Union, who said she found the inspiration for the design of the poster by thinking about things she really enjoys about the Union Fair.

Hawes’ daughters raised pigs for 4-H, and both mother and daughters had a great time with that project. She said it was so much fun to see happy kids and well-cared-for pigs at the fair; the pigs loved grapes and would greet the girls at the fence, waiting for their treats.

Posters are available for purchase, unframed, at Union Agway, Route 17, in Union; and Sweet Season Farm, Route 220 in Washington. Cost is $5 plus any shipping and handling, if applicable. Posters will be available both framed and unframed in the Blueberry Acres building during fair week, Aug. 20 through 27.  Prices will be $5 unframed and $10 framed $10, plus any applicable shipping and handling.
