The public is invited to join Rockport in a series of events scheduled for July 29 through Aug. 7 to commemorate the town's 125th anniversary as a municipality.

The week includes a community dance at the Samoset, Maine Pro Musica concert, big parade through Rockport Village, bluegrass jam and sing-a-long, cardboard box boat race at Rockport Harbor, a free Bay Chamber jazz concert and public dinner on the Goose River Bridge.

In February Rockport marked the anniversary of its 1891 separation from Camden. The winter celebration included three days of ceremonies, as well as a Blood Feud Blood Drive, Fireside Chat with Elders, dinner, children's theater and dance.

This summer, Celebrate Rockport continues the 125th anniversary, and the public is invited. For updates and more details, visit Facebook.com/Rockport125 or town.rockport.me.us.
