Brae Maple Farm, 233 North Union Road, will be open to the public Sunday, July 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of a statewide Open Farm Day. In addition to learning about organic vegetable and flower gardening, beekeeping, drying plants and using them for dyes, companion planting and more, visitors will be treated to the music of Playin’ ‘Possum.

The family trio from Thomaston features David and Gigi Hynd and their son Peter, playing guitar and upright bass and singing songs of favorite musicians, ranging from Gordon Lightfoot and Alison Kraus to The Beatles and the Eagles.

Herbal refreshments will be served, and there will be activities for children. Visitors are advised to watch for signs posted on Route 17 about one mile west of Route 131 North.
