With summer here and the kids out of school, more people will be reaching in their pockets and using their smartphones to capture vacation memories and everyday moments. Nine out of 10 smartphone owners surveyed recently by U.S. Cellular say they’ve taken photos or videos with their phones, and two out of every three say they use their phones for social media.

U.S. Cellular associates will share tips on how to take the best smartphone photos at a free Device Workshop Wednesday, July 27, from 7 to 8 p.m. at 725 Main St. All are welcome; it is not necessary to be a U.S. Cellular customer to attend.

“We want to show you how to take better pictures with your smartphone or tablet,” said Matt Kasper, U.S. Cellular’s director of sales in New England. “These tips combined with our high-quality network will make it easier to share your great photos with your family and friends no matter where your summer travel takes you.”
