On Thursday, Aug. 4, at 6:30 p.m. the Hope Haitian Choir will be performing at Celebration Life Family Church, 3 Cross St., Rockport

The Hope Haitian Choir is comprised of 15 children and five accompanying adults from Haiti. They will be doing a concert tour from Maine to Pennsylvania.

Barb House directs the choir and has made several trips to Haiti to select and work with the children. Most of the music is original, written by House and singer/songwriter friend, Fabry Christy.

The purpose of this effort is to afford these young people an opportunity to develop their potential so that they can make a positive impact on the world in which they live. The Hope Haitian Choir’s mission statement is: To speak hope to America through the faith testimonies of those from Haiti and to give hope to Haiti through spiritual development and by practically helping them with education, food, water, medical care and other basic needs, always glorifying the name of Jesus Christ.

There will be an opportunity to share monetarily at the concert to benefit projects in Haiti, such as starting a school and building a new well.
