It's so hard to say no to that sweet, skinny, slightly forlorn-looking kitty that's been hanging out on your back porch. You already have a few cats, but hey, what's one more? So you take her in. But then you discover she's pregnant — and the next thing you know, your house is crawling with cats and kittens. What's a caring person to do now? Well, sometimes the best thing to do is to call us. We can take some of your cats, have them spayed or neutered and their vaccinations brought up-to-date, and find them loving homes.

Bodie came to us in just this fashion. Since his arrival, he has been nothing but a bundle of joy, and after adjusting to shelter life in a solo "condo," he has become an upstanding resident of one of our communal rooms. It's clear that Bodie is used to living with other cats, and he's having a blast with his new feline roommates. But what he loves most is people. He waits at the door to welcome visitors, and once they enter, he won't leave them alone! He loves to be petted and pounces on every opportunity he gets to play or just be with you. At this point, Bodie would like nothing more than to live in a real home again. And he wouldn't mind sharing that home with another kitty. Maybe one of his new friends here at the shelter?

A solid candidate for that would be Tommy. As far as we know, this handsome young fellow had no experience living with other cats pre-P.A.W.S., but he is fine with everyone and everything he meets. "Absolute love-bug" pretty much sums him up, and even his adorable, heart-shaped nose underscores the point. Tommy will do fine in any home, and like Bodie, he can't wait to be part of a family again.

Won't you help us continue to help folks who are overwhelmed with the pitter-patter of furry paws? Taking care of all these felines and canines, making sure they receive the necessary vaccines and tests and getting them spayed or neutered, costs a lot of money. If you would like to make a donation, large or small, to help us meet those expenses, we would be deeply grateful. You can mail your donation to P.A.W.S., 123 John Street, Camden, ME 04843; donate online at pawsadoption.org; or stop by the shelter and deliver your contribution in person. Donations of cat litter, pet food, and cleaning supplies are also highly appreciated; please check our website for our current wish list or give us a call at 236-8702. We thank you for your support.
