On Friday, July 15, Rock City Café, 316 Main St., will host Blind Albert's 13th annual blues jam.  Blind Albert, the city’s very own bluesman, is sure to get the house jumpin' to kick off blues festival weekend. The jam will begin at 7 p.m. and go to 10 p.m. or later; for more information, email blind_albert@yahoo.com.

On Saturday, July 16, Rock City will present Muddy Ruckus, the Portland-based acoustic power duo of Ryan Flaherty and Erika Stahl, from 7 to 9 p.m. Muddy Ruckus plays an original blend of Americana, Gypsy stomp and epic rock. The duo pulls inspiration from the music they love — old-timey folk music, dirty blues, circa 1940 hot swing and American rock — dressing it with Dylanesque lyrics that poke fun at society and examine the state of the world.

Food is available until closing. For more information on these and other events happening at the coffeebar/cafe, call 594-4123 or find it on Facebook.
