Rockland Main Street, Inc. will present a free weekly program of Music On Main Street Tuesdays from 5 to 7 p.m., beginning July 12 and continuing through Sept. 6.

The weekly series is returning, thanks to the support of Paul Benjamin of the North Atlantic Blues Festival and Tom Ulichny of the Midcoast Music Academy. Each week will offer free outdoor musical performances at three or four locations, with the intent to create more reasons for more people to spend more time in the downtown district. Wednesday will be the rain date.

According to Gordon Page, executive director of Rockland Main Street, Inc., a survey sent out to downtown stakeholders asking for input received 49 responses over a five-day period.

“We reviewed the responses, and the majority of businesses that are routinely open on weekdays till at least 6 or 7 p.m. and who indicated that they would consider staying open later, voted for Tuesday evenings as a first choice, with Wednesday being a second choice,” Page said.

Music On Main is a program of Rockland Main Street, Inc., sponsored by Midcoast Music Academy. The family-friendly presentations are free to the public. For more information, send email to or
