Hyatt, Young make Colby dean's list

WATERVILLE — Colby College has named Jacob O. Hyatt of Thomaston and Amanda V. Young of Warren to its dean's list for their outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester. of the 2015-16 year. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.75 or higher.

Hyatt, a member of the class of 2018, is the son of Melanie Hyatt of Thomaston and Erik Hyatt of Warren. He attended Oceanside High School – East in Rockland.

Young, also a member of the class of 2018, attended Medomak Valley High School in Waldoboro. She is the daughter of Lori Meservey and Donald Young, both of Warren.

Maine Maritime announces grads, dean's list

CASTINE — Alexander Wallace and Benjamin Wallace, both of Spruce Head, graduated May 7 from Maine Maritime Academy. Both earned degrees in marine engineering technology and both made dean's list for their final semester.

Other area students named to the MMA spring semester dean's list for achieving grade point averages of 3.3 or higher are:

Zachary Roman of Rockland, majoring in power engineering technology; Daniel Curtis and Caroline Curtis, both of South Thomaston, both in marine transportation operations; Olivia Hupper of Tenants Harbor, international business and logistics; Ryan Ludwig of Thomaston, marine engineering operations; Justin Henry of Thomaston, marine engineering operations; and Everett Websters of Vinalhaven, marine engineering technology.

Crockett graduates from Daniel Webster College

NASHUA, N.H. — Travis J. Crockett of Tenants Harbor, son of Leslie and Alan Hupper and the late Ronald Crockett, received a bachelor's degree in air traffic management from Daniel Webster College during commencement ceremonies May 7.

Crockett also was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2016 semester. He graduated from Georges Valley High School.

Rockland woman makes dean's list

HAMDEN, Conn. — Hannah Hersom of Rockland has been named to the spring semester dean's list at Quinnipiac University. To qualify for the dean's list, students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Two local students graduate from Saint Joseph's College

STANDISH — On May 14, Saint Joseph’s College held its 103rd commencement on its campus situated along the shores of Sebago Lake. Among more than 700 graduates were Madison Sturks of Rockland, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education, and Rhonda Brown, who received a Bachelor of Science degree in general studies with a business administration specialization.
