The Town of Thomaston has issued an advisory for those planning on viewing the Fourth of July parade on Main Street.

Because of Route 1 road construction on the easterly side of Thomaston, the edges of the road — which used to make for comfortable viewing — no longer have the grassy stretches between driveways.

It is recommended that spectators bring blankets or even rugs to place over the gravel.

With his year’s theme “Hometown Proud,” the parade starts at 11 a.m. from Erin Street and will head west to Booker Street.

Pets on a leash are welcome and pet owners should not forget to bring water for them.
