Rockland Baptist Church announced June 22 that William W. Galloway has accepted the position of lead/senior pastor at the church at 215 Limerock St.

A graduate of the University of Alabama with a B.S. degree in finance and banking, Galloway earned a Master of Divinity degree at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Galloway, whose favorite Bible passage is John 14:6, has served as a church planting pastor/lead pastor in Waterville and Fairfield churches in Maine, and in Tallahassee, Florida, over the last 20 years.

Galloway and his wife Melanie have two adult children, a son Spencer and his spouse Hannah, and a daughter Weslyn and her spouse Andrew, and five grandchildren.

The Galloways  enjoy hiking, swimming, motorcycle rides, and playing and watching sports. Their favorite teams are the Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox and the Auburn Tigers of Auburn University in Alabama.

The couple will live in the Rockland-Camden area.

Galloway will assume the lead pastor position Sunday, July 3. Rockland Baptist invites neighbors and friends in the community to stop by and visit the church (Sunday worship is at 10:45 a.m.) and meet the Galloways.
