The Friends of the Thomaston Public Library’s Friday Night Film Series continues in July with the them of Vive La France! The free weekly movie screenings take place Fridays at 7 p.m. in the Thomaston Academy building, 60 Main St./Route 1.

This month series open July 1 with “The Intouchables” (2011, France), which runs 123 minutes. In this film, based on a true story, a quadriplegic aristocrat's world is turned upside down when he hires a good-humored ex-con as his caretaker. The unlikely duo (Francois Cluzet and Omar Sy) overcome adversity of every flavor as they shatter preconceptions of love, life and each other.

Upcoming in July are: July 8, “The Well-Digger’s Daughter” (2011, France); July 15, “The Artist and the Model” (2012, Spain/France); July 22, “Triple Agent” (2004, France/Italy/Spain/Greece/Russia); and July 29, “My Best Friend” (2006, France).

Friday Night Films are open to the public and free of charge, but donations are gratefully accepted; light refreshments will be served. The Thomaston Academy building is handicapped accessible from the rear entrance. For more information, call the library at 354-2453.
