The Sail, Power and Steam Museum at Sharp’s Point South will present a concert by Larry Kaplan Saturday, July 2, at 7:30 p.m. One of the most respected song makers of the new American folk tradition, Kaplan returns with new original ballads and well-known favorites.

Kaplan, featured this year in “Rise Again,” the sequel to the “Rise up Singing” songbook, and debuting his third Folk Legacy Records CD, engages audiences with songs that contain powerful contemporary messages told with the care of a fine storyteller. His recent CD, “Songs for an August Moon,” was selected by WAMC-National Public Radio as one of the top folk CDs of 2014. Tickets are $12 at the door or in advance.

Sharp’s Point South and the Sail, Power and Steam Museum are at 75 Mechanic St. For more information on the museum and its programs, call 701-7627 or 596-0200; email sailpowersteammuseum@gmail.com; or visit sailpowersteammuseum.org.
