Mid-Coast School of Technology Adult Education is enrolling students now for its summer Commercial Truck Driver Licensing program, scheduled to begin Tuesday, July 5. Deadline for applications is June 30.

This is a five-week Class B truck course where success provides a quick return on the time and money investment. Employment opportunities abound in a field that is facing critical shortages, with many jobs that get you home at night.

The classroom section of the training will run for the first eight days, Monday through Friday, 3 to 9 p.m. Behind-the-wheel training is arranged with the instructor after the classroom section is completed.

CDL license holders enjoy ample work opportunities in Maine: straight flatbed deliveries; refrigerated units; insulation, sanitation, landscaping, plumbing and cleaning service vehicles; bucket trucks for power, cable, phone and tree limbing; tank trucks for sewer, asphalt and fuel; dump trucks; cement mixers; tow trucks, etc.

Individuals must have experience driving a standard shift vehicle, have a valid Maine driver’s license and be 18 years of age or older. Call 596-7752 (option 3) for an application or more information.
