A very successful year for students at Mid-Coast School of Technology has come to a close with students receiving a total of 386 college credits and many obtaining not one, but multiple, industry certifications.

Of these students, 75 seniors and post-grads were honored at the annual student recognition night at Owls Head Transportation Museum on Thursday, May 26. Students were presented with more than $15,000 in scholarships with the support of businesses such as Back Cove Yachts, Horch Roofing and Fisher Engineering.

These seniors now look ahead to their future. For example, students in the Certified Nursing Assistant program, all of whom received certification for the eighth year in a row, are entertaining job offers. Other students are taking their experience and credentials into post-secondary education at institutions such as University of Maine, Johnson and Wales, SMCC, CMCC, EMCC, Husson University and Maine Maritime Academy.

For a select group of students the school year isn’t quite over. This group departed June 19 for the National SkillsUSA Competition in Louisville, Kentucky.

Emylee Leary is representing Maine as a state officer. Hillary Blake and Owen Dehlinger are presenting their video game design. Alden Wadsworth is competing in Auto Refinishing, and Olivia Wheeler and Brianna Dugan are presenting their community service project.
