The popular Songwriters Series at the Camden Public Library, 55 Main St., begins again Tuesday night, Jan. 19. All levels of songwriting are welcome. The songwriters will get a great deal of supportive feedback and a chance to hone their writing and performance, as well as find some musicians to help back up their songs.

Songwriters meet monthly through the winter in preparation for performing their new works at the Library Coffeehouse in June. The format will be the same as last year, meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. on third Tuesdays in the second floor meeting room at the Library. Well-known songwriters and troubadours John Nicholas and David Dodson will lead the sessions. The sessions will culminate in a performance at the Camden Library Coffeehouse Thursday, June 2.

Fee is $15 to register for the series (although drop-ins are welcome at a suggested $5); call Ken Gross at the library for more information or to sign up at 236-3440; or email him at kgross@librarycamden.org. The sessions will be Jan. 19, Feb. 16, March 15, April 19, May 17 (meeting in the Picker Room for the dress rehearsal), at 6 p.m.; and Thursday, June 2, at 7 p.m. for the Coffeehouse performance.
