Joshua Davis, a Season 8 finalist on NBC’s singing competition “The Voice,” will appear on the Strand Theatre stage Friday night, Jan. 15. His concert will begin 7:30 p.m. at the downtown venue, 345 Main St.

Davis is a singer/songwriter raised in the folk tradition, writing songs that blend the roots of American music with gritty rock ‘n' roll and vintage soul. He is no newcomer; for more than 15 years, Davis has made his living sharing his songs, stories and knowledge across the United States and Canada at festivals, concert halls and coffeehouses.

Davis has been dubbed "the Michigan version of the Great American Songscape" by Elderly Instruments’ Chris Reitz, and his catalog is a seamless snapshot of American past and present. Davis is starting off 2016 with a New England tour.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 day-of-show, general admission. Lobby and balcony bars will be open for those age 21 and older. To buy tickets or for more information about all upcoming live concerts, films, HD broadcasts and events at the Strand, visit; call 594-0070, ext. 3; or email
