On Christmas Eve, Sen. Dave Miramant, D-Camden, honored Matinicus lobsterman Noah Ames for his charitable spirit during the holiday season.
For two years in a row, Ames has given free lobster away to needy families in the Midcoast. His charitable giving has not faltered, despite his boat sinking last winter. Ames told the Penobscot Bay Pilot newspaper that the sinking reminded him that “things can get tough pretty quick” for anyone.
Sen. Miramant presented Ames with a Legislative Sentiment, recognizing him for his commitment to helping hungry families during the holidays. The sentiment was also signed by Rep. Pinny Beebe-Center, D-Rockland.
"We thank Noah, his family and everyone else who helped make this possible,” said Sen. Miramant. “It inspires us all to reach out with generosity and kindness. That is a great gift for the holidays and year round."
