The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office has reported the following local incident:

Dec. 4

An accident occurred on Washington Road in Jefferson involving Justice N. Whittaker, 17, of Waldoboro, and Whitney H. Dow, 17, of Waldoboro. Whittaker was driving his 2008 Toyota 4 Runner southbound and was making a legal left turn. Dow was driving a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta northbound when she failed to obey the yield sign, resulting in her vehicle's striking Whittaker’s vehicle. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
