This year’s Holiday Movie at the Camden Public Library will be the classic, full-length feature movie from C.S. Lewis’ series, “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” The PG-rated 2005 film will be screened Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 6 p.m. in the Picker Room. It runs 135 minutes.

The classic book is reborn in the movie, as four children from war-torn England find themselves transported to a land of myth and fantasy. Thanks to stunningly realistic special effects, viewers will experience the exploits of Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter, four siblings who found the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing a game of hide-and-seek at the country estate of a mysterious professor. Once there, the children discover a charming, once-peaceful land inhabited by talking beasts, dwarves, fauns, centaurs and giants that has been turned into a world of eternal winter by the White Witch.
