Members of Adas Yoshuron Synagogue and many community volunteers are getting ready for the 26th annual Christmas Day Community Dinner. The meal, which features appetizers donated by area restaurants, followed by roast turkey (donated by Mainely Poultry) with all the trimmings, and an array of delicious desserts (also made by area restaurants), takes place at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 11 White St. Meal coordinator Lisa Breheny promises great food, good company, music and lots of holiday cheer for anyone who attends this community event.

Appetizers are served at noon and dinner is at 1 p.m. The meal is free to the public; all are welcome.

Additionally, synagogue members will continue their tradition of coordinating the Christmas Day Meals on Wheels for Knox and Lincoln counties. The effort will be based at the Methodist Conference Home on Summer Street. Food preparers will be in the kitchen cooking and plating the holiday meals, and drivers will deliver the hot meals to people in their homes. The synagogue crew will also be serving Christmas dinner to residents of the home.
