The holiday film pick for the Saltwater Film Society is “The Homecoming: A Christmas Story.” It will be shown Thursday, Dec. 17, at 6:30 p.m. in Room 200 of Thomaston Public Library, in the Thomaston Academy building at 60 Main St./Route 1.
The head of the society, Craig Mathieson, said that while he has not seen “The Homecoming,” high ratings on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes speak well for this made-for-TV film that led to the television series "The Waltons."
Every third Thursday of the month, the SWFS gathers to watch and informally discuss the content and the context of that month’s film. Mathieson, who offers local film and video services, also is the creator of the faux-vintage “No text messaging” clip played at the beginning of all films at the Strand Theatre in Rockland.
All are welcome. The screening is free.
