Tartans will take over Yuletide Saturday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m., thanks to the Scottish Holiday Concert in the Strom Auditorium of Camden Hills Regional High School, off Route 90. The evening is a fundraiser for the CHRHS/Edinburgh Academy Exchange travel program.
The benefit concert program offers performances by musicians well known to local fans of traditional music — and well-versed in Celtic approach to song, dance and instrumental tunes. Scottish Holiday Concert-goers will enjoys performances by Castlebay, Glenn Jenks, Chris Brinn and friends, Trish Goodspeed and Kristin Tescher, Nikos Apollonio, Tom Gray and Jon Moro. The evening will end with an audience sing-along of “Auld Lange Syne,” featuring lyrics by Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet.
Refreshments will be available during intermission. Tickets are $10, $5 for children, with a family cap of $20. They are available at HAV II in Camden and at the school’s administrative office. For more information, call 236-7800.
