Kno-Wal-Lin's Health Matters series presents occupational therapist Kristina DiSciullo, MS OTR/L from Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care & Hospice with simple, practical tips for relaxation, making everyday tasks easier, conserving time and energy and much more at the Picker Family Resource Center, 756 Commercial St., Rockport, Dec. 10 from noon to 1 p.m. Participants will learn how to start working smarter instead of harder.

Get holiday baking ideas at bread demo and tasting Dec. 12

Catahoula Rescue holds pet nail trimming clinic Dec. 12

Catahoula Rescue of New England will hold a nail trim clinic and wrap holiday gifts for donations Dec.12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tractor Supply in Thomaston. Nail trimming is available for dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. Trims are $10, ear cleaning is $5, or have both done for $12. All funds raised go directly to the rescue.

Synagogue to hold Hanukkah party Dec. 13

Adas Yoshuron Synagogue, 50 Willow St., Rockland, will hold its annual Hanukkah party Sunday, Dec. 13, the eighth day of the holiday. The festivities begin at 1 p.m. with a screening of the family film "Belle and Sebastien," and will be followed at 3 p.m. by the community menorah lighting, singing, dreidel games, and of course, latkes, the traditional potato pancakes eaten on this holiday.

Library to offer basic digital device class Dec. 14

Thomaston Public Library, 60 Main St., will offer an introduction to technology course focusing on basic functions and capabilities of computers, tablets and phones Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. The class is open to all patrons of the Thomaston Public Library, but class size is limited to 10. Sign up at the circulation desk or phone the library at 354-2453. Additional classes are being planned for January and February.

AIO to benefit from Flatbread Pizza donation

Flatbread Pizza Co., 399 Commercial St., Rockport, hosts a benefit for Area Interfaith Outreach's Weekend Backpack Program Dec. 15 from 5 to 9 p.m. A portion of all pizza sales will be donated to the program that helps 200 local school children take home food for the weekend.

Library to benefit from Good Karma bags

The Waldoboro Public Library has been selected as a beneficiary of the “Hannaford Helps” Good Karma Reusable Bag program. For every blue "Hannaford Helps" Good Karma Reusable Bag purchased at the Waldoboro Hannaford store through Dec. 31, the library will receive a $1 donation to put towards new items for its collection for patrons to borrow.
