Rock City Café, 316 Main St., welcomes Meteora for a 7 to 9 p.m. performance Friday, Dec. 11. Meteora features Kat Logan and Jim Loney of Friendship; and Will Brown of Lincolnville. Their repertoire spans world folk, traditional, ballads, original songs, ‘40s and ‘50s pop, Delta blues, Cubano, Slavic and a cappella vocal arrangements. In addition to being fine musicians, all three performers are singers; the results are tight three-part harmonies and varied instrumentation. Food is available until closing.

On Saturday, Dec. 12, the music and more gets going at 6 p.m. with a fundraiser launch for a new super-green coffee roaster for Rock City Coffee Roasters. The Dolphin Strikers, with special guests First in Maths, headline an all-ages dance party that also features Midcoast poet and musician Dave Morrison.

With Rockland’s downtown changing so dramatically over the last decade, the roasterie needs to exchange its traditional drum roaster, which puts out a significant amount of smoke and odor into the neighborhood, for a roaster that puts out no emissions. A suggested donation of $10 is request; all proceeds go to an indiegogo crowdsourcing campaign. Everyone is invited to eat, drink, dance and donate.
