College Next, an all-inclusive college preparation program, is registering students for the spring semester. The 12-week program prepares students for college and finishes in time for the summer college semester.

The course helps students work on the necessary skills of doing homework, learning new things and being to class on time. The classes are low-key and lively, yet students definitely gear up for college coursework. In addition to skill-building sections in English and mathematics, students complete COL 100-Introduction to College Experience and earn three college credits through University of Maine at Augusta.

This program is funded by Maine College Transitions, and student cost is only $90 for books and supplies. The full-day classes are held at University College at Rockland from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays from Feb. 3 to May 11. Orientation is held Tuesday, Feb. 2. This program is limited to 15 students and is beginning to fill up.
