An exciting multi-media tribute to mothers is coming to the Strand Theatre, 345 Main S., Sunday, May 10, at 1 p.m. The “WOW MOM Variety Show — A Celebration for Mother’s Day!” will feature sing-alongs, animation, cartoons, a live band, singers and more.

The one-hour show is for children age 4 to 12 and their mothers and grandmothers. Admission is free, and includes free gifts for moms.

The show is written, produced and hosted by John Burstein, the creator of Slim Goodbody (the costumed health crusader seen for many years on PBS and Captain Kangaroo). Joining him will be band members Phil Clement, Jeff Densmore and Max McFarland. Lending their voices in honor of Mom is the student a cappella group The Offbeats. Video was produced by award-winning production house goodfocus, with animation by Bill Davis.

Doors will open at 12:15 p.m. For more information about this show and all upcoming live concerts, films, HD broadcasts and events at the Strand, visit; call 594-0070, ext. 3; or email
