A fire that started in a garage bay at Ron's Towing & Recovery on Camden Street was quickly extinguished Nov. 6.

At 10:35 a.m. Rockland Fire and Emergency Medical personnel responded to a structure fire at the 67 Camden St. garage.

According to Rockland Fire Lt. Jamie Leo, workers were welding the exhaust on a 2001 Chevy Cavalier inside the garage while it was on a lift and the car's interior caught on fire.

Employees unloaded the vehicle and pushed it, before extinguishing the fire. Moderate damage was done to the vehicle, according to Leo.

Rockland fire crews used thermal imaging to be certain the fire was completely out, and remained on the scene for 20 minutes.
