The Monkey Butt Memorial 5K road race is set for Sunday, Oct. 5 at 8:15 a.m. at the Warren Odd Fellows Hall.

The race is dedicated to the memory of Laken Harrington, a student from Medomak Valley High School who passed away unexpectedly last year. Proceeds will benefit the Laken Harrington Memorial Sports Fund. The fund helps provide sports equipment to children who may not be able to afford to play.

Race registration starts at 7 a.m. The opening ceremony will be at 8 a.m. and the race will start at 8:15 a.m. An awards ceremony will be at 10 a.m.

If participants preregister by Sunday, Sept. 28, they will be given a race t-shirt. Preregistration is $20. The race day fee is $25. Registrants will receive t-shirts on the day of the race until supplies run out.
