Prock Marine Company of Rockland was the low bidder on the sinkhole repair needed on Route 1 in Warren near North Pond.

Town Manager Elaine Clark said a sinkhole developed through a culvert under the road between North Pond and the marsh area across the road.

The rerouting of traffic via construction gates has continued since late spring.

The low bid was $224,450 for the project, which is expected to be complete by Oct. 4, according to Ted Talbot, media spokesman for Maine Department of Transportation.
