The following is a synopsis of the 2014 Medomak Valley High School boys soccer team:

Coach/years coached current team: Brian Campbell, fifth year.

Last year's record/playoff information: 3-8-3, 16th in Eastern Class B. The Panthers did not qualify for the playoffs.

Roster: Seniors Micah Williamson (midfield), Noah Beck (defense, goalie), Sam Morrill (forward), Jared Mank (midfield), Patrick Madden (midfield), Nicholas DePatsy (midfield), Jackson Vail (junior), Ollie Brown (midfield), Ethan Swan (midfield), Tucker Prescott (midfield), Ezra Hinkley (defense) and Dennis Wescott (defense); sophomores Zidane McMurrin (forward), Jonathan Allard (defense), Cameron Leach (forward), Cale Gee (midfield), Adam Eutsler (forward), Taylor McLain (defense), Patrick White (midfield), Cameron Robinson (goalie) and Isaac Eutsler (defense).

Known graduation losses: Brandon McAuliffe, Clarence Porter, Ben Rawstrom and Jacob York.

Significant impact players: Williamson, Morrill, Beck and McMurrin.

Team strengths: Experience and chemistry.

Team goals: To play a consistent style of soccer which will hopefully lead to a berth in the Eastern Class B playoffs.

Top league opponents: “The Class B East schedule provides a playoff-caliber opponent with every contest,” said Campbell.

Outlook: With eight returning starters from last year's squad — combined with an aggressive summer schedule — the Panthers look to begin the season in competitive fashion and are focused on returning to the postseason. Tri-captains Williamson, a forward; Beck, a goalie; and Morrill, a forward; will lead the Panthers, while McMurrin is also a top-flight goal scorer.
