Bella means “beautiful” in Italian, and is she ever! Bellissima! This gorgeous torti also has extra toes on her front paws, adding to her allure. She’s had a litter of kittens, and now she’s ready to pack it in with being a mom and get some time to herself and a fur-ever friend. Bella would love to have a home with lot of windows, as she likes to feel she is outside.

Looking for a cat to snuggle with? Meet Smoke, who likes nothing better than to curl up and go to sleep under a blanket, even when it’s a warm day out. He’s particularly happy when he has someone to share the bliss.

Don’t forget that the adoption fee for all adult cats is now only $10. So money can buy love, and a lot of it.

August is known as “the dog days,” because the dog star, Sirius, is in ascendance throughout the month. And Sunday, Aug. 31, is the Dogs’ Day, when dogs and their people have the opportunity to gather in Camden’s Harbor Park and show off their talents and charisma at the annual Camden Windjammer Festival Sea Dog Show.

Contestants will test their speed and agility in an obstacle course and strut their stuff against the backdrop of the scenic Camden Harbor. A panel of judges will award prizes courtesy of the Loyal Biscuit Company and Maine Dog for tallest and shortest dogs, longest and shortest tails, largest and shortest ears, best nautical costume, best dog trick and most unusual name. See you there!

As always we need paper towels, bleach, laundry detergent, dish soap and cotton balls. Thank you indeed for your thoughtful generosity!

Stop by and hang out with our blissful bunch at 146 Camden St. in Rockport. We’re open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, our phone number is (207) 236-8702 and our website is never closed! And thank you, as always, for your caring and support.
