Mark Marston passed away Sept. 30, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas after a short, but courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Aug. 12, 1959, in Camden to Kenneth and Geneva Knight Marston. He graduated from Camden-Rockport High School in 1977.

He joined the Army Reserve in the fall of 1977 and took his training at Fort Knox, Ky. and later transferred to the Air Force Reserves, and was stationed at the Bangor International Airport.

He met Carol Kennedy in 1988, and with open arms welcomed her and her three kids into his life. That’s the kind of man Mark always was, putting everyone else’s needs before his own. Mark’s other passion in life has always been computers, starting in high school, where the main computer was located at Bowdoin College. He continued working in electronics and computers throughout his career at various jobs that included Bath Iron Works and a company that sub-contracted to the State of Maine to set up and service their computer systems. He later relocated to San Antonio, Texas to take a position with Rackspace, a global leader in hybrid cloud.

He was predeceased by his mother, Geneva and ex-wife, Carol. He is survived by his father, Ken and his wife Julie of Leesburg, Fla. and his sister, Dolores Hyssong and her husband John and their family, and by step-sons Chase Macioch and his family, John Kennedy and his family, and Christopher Kennedy and his family, and a special cousin Brenda Berry and her husband Charles.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. at the West Rockport Cemetery on Park Street.
