Painters’ open studio at Nanatuck

“Local Paintings from a different perspective,” an open studio, invites the public to meet visiting artists and view their work Fridays from 2 to 6 p.m. through Sept. 12 at Nanatuck, the historic cottage at 47 Marshall Point Road, just before the lighthouse.

For the fourth year, conservationist and full-time artist Mary Erickson has invited art professionals from all over the country to stay at Nanatuck. The group has painted plein air from Pemaquid to Monhegan. Notables such as Daniel Ambrose and Hodges Soileau from Florida, D. Elienne Basa from New Jersey, Greg Barnes from North Carolina, Roger Dale Brown from Tennessee and Maine’s Don Demers have come to portray the local scenery. Their paintings will be on display.
