Children and parents are invited to a free program on upcycled art Friday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lincolnville Community Library.
Volunteer Nanci Kendall will read stories about recycling and talk about ways people can both recycle and upcycle, or convert used materials into good new products.
Then children will have the opportunity to create people, animals and other fun creatures from items that might otherwise be considered useless. Materials such as plastic bottles, fabric, buttons, paper egg cartons, and other odds and ends will be provided.
The program is recommended for children 5 to 10 years old, but all ages are welcome. To sign up, call 763-4343 or email lincolnvillelibrary@tidewater.net.
