Some of the Midcoast’s busiest musicians have come together to form a new dance band called People of Earth, performing a range of styles including rock, reggae, funk and Latin.
People of Earth will bring its danceable mix of original songs and covers to the Highlands Coffee House, Main Street/Route 1, Saturday night, Aug. 23. The tunes will flow from 8 to 10 p.m.
Band members include Kristen Burkholder of Northport on vocals, Jeff Weinberger of Montville on guitar, Alan Boyer of Rockland on keyboards, Jason Dean of Northport on drums and Mike Whitehead of Thomaston on bass. For more information, call 354-4162.
Next month, People of Earth are slated to perform Saturday, Sept. 6, in Waterfall Arts’ Fallout Shelter, Belfast.
