Dr. Alden Josey will speak at Jackson Memorial Library in Tenants Harbor on two Wednesdays, Aug. 20 and 27, at 7 p.m., continuing a summer tradition of the past 15 years.

The free presentations are entitled: Reading the Bible Again for the First Time: Old Wine in New Bottles. They will examine some familiar themes and stories from sacred literature and suggest new ways for modern minds to approach and grasp the wisdom of the ancients. A certified Jungian analyst, Dr. Josey currently chooses to focus on the interface of psychology, religion and culture and on the psychodynamics of individuation in late life.

He ended his long career as research scientist with Dupont in 1985 to enter the Training Program of the Jung Institut for Analytical Psychology in Z├╝rich, Switzerland. He received the Diploma from that Institute in 1989 and returned to the United States to set up a private practice of psychoanalysis in Wilmington, Del., which he still maintains. He is an emeritus member of the Philadelphia Association of Jungian Analysts where he has served as Director of Admissions, Director of Training and President.
