The community is invited to come together for a fundraising concert dubbed A Way to Sam’s Heart Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Camden Amphitheatre. Admission is free, with donations encouraged.
Local band Just Teachers will perform a family-friendly set, and folks are encouraged to bring a picnic along, with their dancing shoes, and support Sam Clark and his family.
Sam Clark is a 16-year-old Rockport resident who has lived with severe dilated cardiomyopathy since infancy. Recently, his condition has deteriorated to the point he must have a heart transplant, which he is now awaiting.
Clark’s family recently started a fundraising campaign to help with the expenses associated with time lost from work, travel to Boston and ongoing heart management care. One hundred percent of proceeds from the concert will be donated to the GoFundMe campaign created on behalf of the Camden Hills Regional High School student's family.
Rain date is Wednesday, Aug. 20. In the event of rain on the 20th, the concert will be held indoors in the Strom Auditorium of Camden Hills.
