Join nutritionist John Bagnulo and personal trainer John Falato for a free presentation for young athletes, their families, coaches and trainers entitled for “Upping Your Game.”

The event will be held Thursday, Aug. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Penobscot Bay YMCA Community Room.

The presentation will help young athletes and their families make healthy choices surrounding nutrition and determine what type of training program is appropriate.

“The needs of bodybuilders and power lifters are different from those of athletes, as are the varied needs of adults versus adolescents,” said Falato in a news release. “There are certain criteria and principles that are essential components of a safe and effective training program, aimed at the development of athletic potential in middle school, high school and college age young people.”

Upping Your Game will identify those principles and criteria so parents and student athletes can make informed decisions about nutrition and conditioning. The event is free and open to the public. Call 596-8950 for more information.
