Local herbalist Kathi Langelier will present a free program on Self Empowerment and Health Wednesday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m. at the Lincolnville Community Library.
Langelier will describe how lifestyle, particular foods, herbs, and practices such as breathing exercises can all be used to strengthen the immune system and support good health. Using her own experiences in dealing with Lyme disease as an example, she will discuss what people can do to empower themselves when dealing with chronic illnesses. For example, she says herbs such as reishi mushrooms can be used on a daily basis to give the body extra support.
Langelier is the founder of Herbal Revolution, a company based in Lincolnville. She grows many organic herbs in her own gardens and also travels throughout Maine to gather wild plants in a sustainable, ethical way. She uses these herbs to create a variety of products, including teas, elixirs and body butters.
The library is located at 208 Main St. in Lincolnville Center. For more information, call 763-4343 or email lincolnvillelibrary@tidewater.net.
