In 2009, Ocean Watch set sail on a 13-month voyage around the Americas to learn more about the health of the world’s oceans.
The premise was simple: North and South America represent a single island surrounded by a common ocean. What happens in any one place ultimately affects all. While that notion was straightforward, what the crew discovered was anything but.
Former Cruising World Editor-in-Chief Herb McCormick presents their discoveries on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m. at Camden Yacht Club.
McCormick will host a book signing before the seminar, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Owl and Turtle Bookshop, 33 Bay View St., Camden.
