Waldoboro police officers responded to 149 calls for service between July 14 and 21. Below are a few of the highlights:

July 14

Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated a crash on Atlantic Highway at noon. Ashley Deshiro, 24, of Waldoboro was traveling west in a 2002 Chevrolet sedan when she started to experience vehicle mechanical problems. Deshiro said the vehicle became hard to control and started drifting into the oncoming travel lane. She was able to steer the vehicle to the right out of the oncoming travel lane, ending up going off the road and hitting two mailboxes on a post. The left front tire and wheel assembly were off the vehicle when it came to rest .No injuries were reported.

July 16

Hesseltine summoned Tamiko Harvey, 36, of Waldoboro for uninspected motor vehicle.

July 17

Hesseltine investigated an unwanted subject complaint. The subject was found and warned on trespass.

July 19

Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated a crash on the Atlantic Highway at 8:05 a.m.  John Schramm, 64, of Rockland was driving a 2013 Toyota utility vehicle and attempted to pass Deborah Donnell, 56, of Rockland, who was driving a 2003 Subaru sedan. Donnell was making a left turn into a business, and was struck by Schramm. No injuries were reported.

July 20

Fuller investigated a complaint of the theft of a boat and motor valued at $5,000.

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
