The Community Building Grant Program of the Maine Community Foundation recently awarded more than $800,000 in grants to 153 organizations across Maine.
The community foundation’s flagship grant program is designed to support activities that strengthen and build communities. The program is one of only a few Maine-based grant programs that serve the entire state and cover a broad array of interest areas, from animal welfare to youth development.
County and regional committees, composed of local leaders with local knowledge and a commitment to philanthropy, review the applications. Grants range in size from $500 to $10,000.
The next deadline for submitting applications to the Community Building Grant Program is Feb. 15, 2015. For more information about the program, contact Lelia De Andrade, director of grantmaking services, at 761-2440 or ldeandrade@mainecf.org.
